We are the Padoung. We come from the Kaya State
in Burma. Bandits and soldiers have attacked and
killed us for our neck rings. About 15 years ago we
had to leave our homes or die! We are now guests of
the People of Thailand. We are the "Long Necks".

What We Do

We at Friends of the Long Necks hope to help our fellow human beings by being
friends of long necks and other desperate Burmese hill tribe peoples. This long
neck fled her home in Burma about 15 years ago as Burmese soldiers killed and
maimed her fellow tribes people in order to steal the metal around their necks.
Thailand has been a sanctuary and refuge for her and her tribe. Come and see
